~ Ocean Gyres ~

There are five known gyres spinning around in our world’s oceans. A gyre is a slowly moving spiral of currents created by a high pressure system of air currents. A spinning soup, so to speak, is made of what exists in the water. And in this case, the gyres are spinning with millions of tons of our discarded and forgotten about plastic waste!

Problem: Marine and Microplastic contamination is threatening life on earth

In the map below you can see the Pacific Ocean's gyre and the garbage patches collecting therein...

Mismanaged marine plastics end up travelling in these ocean currents/gyres and then get caught up in, and accumulate in, garbage patches along the way.  There are five known garbage patches and the biggest one is larger than the state of Texas!

When these mismanaged Plastics agglomerate into the unsightly garbage patches they also break down into ingestible microplastics

The National Geographic Video below, details the threat of Microplastics:

Solution: Blue Whale Ocean Filtration Fleets will traverse our ocean's gyres, filtering out marine plastics and microplastics

Blue Whale Ocean Filtration plans to have fleets traversing these gyres, filtering out massive amounts of plastics.  Blue Whale ships will also be equipped to handle both macro and micro plastics they encounter through the filtering process.
